Diesel Engines and Components
We offer a large array of testing and analysis services related to internal combustion engines. Industrial diesel engines sometimes fail in service and require analysis to determine the cause of the failure and to determine the most effective repair procedures. We also provide engineering support for design changes and for new component development.
We have assisted in many diesel engine projects in engines ranging from small Perkins/Detroit/Cummins engines to much larger Cat/EMD/Cleveland/MAN/GE/Nordberg/Sulzer engines. We can solve problems with individual components, balance problems, over-stress problems, and part design. We have experience aboard vessels operated by Washington State Ferries, the US Navy, foreign cruise liners, foreign and domestic shipping companies, commercial fishing companies from the US, Russia and S. Korea. We also have experience on several different types of locomotives and their drive systems.
Automotive Performance
We have the in-house capability to assess engine performance potential and to recommend upgrade changes for a particular engine design. We occasionally build engines for Clients. We are currently building two high performance street engines in our laboratory. These engine builds are done by our engineering staff and overseen as with any regular work project in the laboratory. The environment is clean and temperature controlled.
We can diagnose broken parts, make part upgrade recommendations, or give some sound engineering guidance on your rebuild project.
We are currently expanding our services in this area.
